Starbucks is planning to fire a single mother for becoming pregnant with her second child, Industrial Workers of the World revealed on Friday.

Christina Rosevear claimed that since informing the management of the Northern California Starbucks where she worked of her pregnancy, she has been discriminated against and now the management is preparing to terminate her employment.

The Barista job is the only means of support for Rosevear and her 19 month-old daughter.

Rosevear's doctor ordered her to take time off work to deal with a pregnancy-related back ailment that may be connected to heavy lifting at Starbucks, but when she returned to work, the store manager warned that he might fire her for being away from the job.

Rosevear has chosen to fight back and has joined the Starbucks Workers Union, and as a result the management to hold a meeting with her.

Starbucks declined to comment on the incident saying that they did not wish to discuss an internal human resources matter.

Starbucks Workers Union urged workers to support Roseavear by writing to Starbucks chairman Howard Schultz.
