Neocons, who have so far been gaming Digg underground, have decided to go public with their campaign, and even have the audacity to post a link to a blog where Diggers are gathering with the sole intention of pushing the conservative agenda through social media.
I first realized that Digg was being gamed by neocons when I realized that a number of stories that uncovered the deception of the Republican lie machine were buried within seconds of the stories hitting the front page.
I had no proof until today when I saw an article on Digg entitled: 4 Steps to Increased Conservative Influence (through Digg). The story links to a neocon blog called Gop3.com: The triumvirate.
Here's the call for arms:
Currently, liberals are leading the way on digg, liberal candidates and opinions make it to the front page more often and therefore gain greater influence
We cannot let this continue if we want to continue to expose the faults of the liberal ideology to as many people as possible. If we do not take the time to be involved and promote (digg in this case) the right ideas, we will be ultimately beaten, not just in exposure but across the US in political campaigns.
In a nutshell, the blogger there encourages neocon Diggers to form friends circle to promote their stories. People are asked to put down there usernames so others can add them.
The plan seems to have met with little success as only two users have signed up in three hours. Best of all, a comment on the blog explains what the neocons simple don't get:
See thats the thing, you don’t get the fact that its not liberal bias (nor has it ever been liberal bias on digg), its logical bias. When things are popular because they are logical it doesn’t equate to bias.
